Exciting news, the Sport Relief mile is coming to Oxford on Sunday the 25th March and Oxford City Council needs your help to make this charity event a huge success!

With 2012 being the year for opportunities within sport, this is a volunteering opportunity not to be missed.

The family Bathurst appear to have come to a very quick conclusion following the death of the Earl in the autumn, and have allowed the league meeting on Feb 5th to go ahead in the Park as usual. Or to put it another way, please do not go to Ascott-under-Wychwood after all. The venue and courses of previous years at Cirencester Park will be used.

 At the AGM, there were no volunteers to act as the Track and Field Co-ordinators for the County Championships in May. Without people in these posts, the organisation of the Championships is not possible. Can you help? Please let John Sear (Oxon AA Chairman) know if you or anyone in your club is interested.

The Network have organised 2 events that will be taking place in October and are in desperate need for volunteers to help on the days!  Please could you promote these events to your members and get anyone who is interested in volunteering to contact Margaret Stevens ASAP!  Details of the 2 events and what volunteers are required are below.

Please find attached the details for the nomination process for the Oxfordshire Sports Awards. Nominations are open from the 2nd September - 23rd September 2011. We have had some fantastic sporting achievement from individuals, clubs and teams based within the City. It would be great to showcase this with lots of nominations. Please can you pass on to relevant individuals within your club / teams.

The BBO Cross Country Championships will be held on Sunday 20th November at Buttersteap, Swinley Forest, Bracknell.

There is a full range of events for all age groups  and your club is invited to compete
 in these  championships, which will be hosted by Bracknell AC

All First claim members of affiliated clubs (£5) with headquarters within the three counties
 are eligible to compete.

Dear colleagues, I suspect you have all received an invitation from Mike Andrews (Course Director for the Oxford Half Marathon) to attend a meeting at Brookes Sports Centre next Thursday 18th August at 7.00. I have not received such an invitation. My view is very clear (and has been agreed by the OAA Committee) - OAA was not invited to be involved in this event; the race is not permitted by UK-A (Governing Body); there are two OAA events on that day (at Finstock and Longworth).
