The page title is still one of the most important ranking factors for Google, so you have to make sure it’s optimized correctly for every page. This means adding the relevant keyword to each particular page and making sure that your page title isn’t too long. Great content never sleeps, never needs a lunch break and is adored by search engines and customers alike. This planner will also provide information on historical stats, so you can see how the keyphrase has gained and lost popularity over the last few months and years. Things such as social media, branding and other digital marketing strategies come in to it and they really compliment your very own SEO!

Think like a human not a robot when it comes to URLs

There are hundreds of different ranking factors that search engines, like Google, consider as part of their algorithm when deciding what results to return for a given search query. Search engine optimization (SEO) is a marketing strategy where you provide Google with the content representing your services or products on a consistent, regular basis. Traditional aspects like links and content are still major factors, but we’ve seen clients with no links and no content rank #1 for incredibly competitive keywords (case study later in the book). Right now, if you’re an SEO specialist, you would want to have anything and everything you can get your hands on in order for you to rank – and rank well.

Invest in conversion rates

Create profiles for your business (and include a link to your website) on major directory sites such as Google My Business, Yelp, Angie’s List, Yellow Pages, and other listing resources associated with your industry. A title tag tells both users and search engines what the topic of a particular page is. The title tag should be placed within the head tag of the HTML document. Ideally, you should create a unique title for each page on your site. I am passionate about SEO, and digital marketing more generally, but I also understand it has its pitfalls, the main one being the complex, crowded and confusing market for SEO services. Using certain keywords, which relate to your specific business, can be tailored into such a way that any search for them will bring up your website.

Getting SEO to take off can take time and patience

So getting your website higher in the search engines is extremely important. For SEO purposes, you should definitely monitor the click through rates of different pages. You should be able to see the rates of specific pages on your website in Google Search Console. There is a lot one of can write about on their web page, the key is to keep varying your content. If you continue to rewrite one thing you found interesting, you can get any expert you want to spin it, at one point it is just going to stop interesting the reader. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Those new to SEO think that this kind of online marketing strategy is a long, complicated process that includes many parts. While there are a lot of factors to consider when optimizing your website, they don’t need to be all done at the same time."

Be mindful of link research

Search engines often reward you for updating old content. But remember, you only get a reward for actually making the content more relevant! The optimization process takes place in several phases and requires expert knowledge of marketers and web developers who work together on SEO analysis and improvement. A sitemap (with which you may well be familiar) is an HTML page containing an ordered list of all the pages on your site (or, for a large site, at least the most important pages). Remember, great quality and lengthy content will work best, both for users and search engines. Studies have shown that long content consistently ranks higher than thin content. Consistency is crucial; maintain a regular publishing schedule.
