Make sure your SEO checklist includes citations for best results
When you add a link to your website, you are inviting users to leave your site. Now's the time for
any local business to raise its game. Link building isn’t dead. Not by a long shot. Search engines pick what content they will and won’t index as they go through the crawling process.
Create an Engaging Web Presence by the use of text links
This is where you encourage the reader to engage with your business on a more rewarding scale. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
refers to the method used to increase a website’s position on search engine results pages (SERPs) on sites such as Google, Yahoo, or Bing. The content on your site should be organized in a logical way. This is not only good for SEO, it also helps visitors on your site find other related content easily. (The longer they stay on your site, the better.) Whilst Search Engine Optimisation is indeed a powerful form of digital marketing, there are other types of marketing which can be advantageous to use alongside SEO marketing. For example, PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising and social media marketing can be very useful alongside a SEO campaign.
Think like a human not a robot when it comes to splogs
A work around so as to fix this phenomenon is to track what Google analytics calls the adjusted bounce rate. In order to track this “modified” bounce rate the only thing you have to do is to add one extra line of code to your website’s Google analytics tracking script. In this way Google analytics will executes an event when a user has spent over a certain amount of time on the page. Wouldn’t it be great to give Google & Bing a list of all the pages we want them to notice? With XML sitemaps you can do just that. This is a file you add to your website (normally at yourdomain.uk/sitemap.xml) that lists the URLs for a site. Most CMSs can create one automatically for you, and let you choose to remove certain pages. More and more, the Search Engines are starting to consider social media references as important signals about your website and your company in general. We asked an SEO Specialist
, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "If your online business isn’t taking advantage of all that SEO solutions offer, you’re bound to fall short of the competition."
Make it sufficiently broad in terms of nofollow links
The methods vary from technical practices you can achieve behind the scenes on your website (we tend to refer to this as ‘on-page SEO’) to all the promotional ’off-page’ approaches you can use to raise your site’s visibility (link-building, social media marketing). Long tail keywords may
offer more chances to show up higher in the search results, while you can also perform manual searches on your own to test the first pages of the keywords you want to target. Indexing web pages allows search engines to quickly provide the most updated links to relevant pages for users who type in a search query into the search engine. There’s a danger that duplicate content will cannibalize the keywords you want to target in search. Duplicate content can be a problem on your own site, but also with any guest posts that you submit to other websites for backlinks.
