Search engine optimisation is a long-term marketing strategy that works to improve your business’ visibility in search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. Originally devised as a way to combat comment spam, when a nofollow attribute is added to a link it tells search engines that your link to it isn't necessarily a vote of confidence. Write good original and compelling content with the keywords to help your search rankings. Already, more than half of Google searches come from mobile devices including smartphones and tablets.
Adopt a customer centric view of stickiness
Detailed, in-depth, and informative content is likely to be linked to by other websites. When other sites write about a topic, they often link back to resources. By creating a webpage that is extremely valuable and informational, you increase the likelihood of other blogs linking back to it as a resource. Generally speaking, the more
QUALITY websites that link to you, the better. More website links bring more traffic, and that helps boost your web traffic. More importantly, Google counts every link to your website as a vote of sorts. If you get a lot of good “votes” from other relevant and reputable websites, Google will reward you with higher rankings in the search engine results and you’ll get even more visibility and traffic. Google generates far more traffic than any of the other search engines, including Bing(Microsoft), Yahoo and all the other search engines combined, so being high on the Google search engine results is what it’s all about! To a larger degree, your backlink profile is made up of backlinks from external sites (also known as referring domains) that contribute to the overall strength, relevance and diversity of your domain’s backlink profile. “Link building” is a term that SEO practitioners use to describe the process of building credibility. The idea is simple: people link to your website when they perceive your brand as a source of authority.
My thoughts on quality
Create an XML sitemap and submit it to the search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing) to let them crawl your website that much easier. How do you put
an invisible business on the map? The sheer apparent complexity of SEO is enough to turn some people away entirely. The number, accuracy and quality of your business' local citations improve its chances of featuring highly in search results.
My thoughts on indexed pages
For example, a core keyword phrase might be “accommodation” and that cluster may include “accommodation New York”, “luxury accommodation” and “boutique accommodation”. Producing quality content is always the key – but you need the attention too.The great thing about producing content for your website on a regular basis, is that you can target as many keywords (the search terms that people enter) as you like. For smaller organizations, organic search can provide a low-cost way to build a highly targeted audience. Gaz Hall, from SEO Hull
, had the following to say: "Google has worked to smash black-hat and spam-based link-building practices, penalizing link wheels, exchanges and paid links. In 2012 the Penguin update ushered in the link building reality we experience today. With it only natural link accumulation will gain your website & webpages authority."
The best advice I've listened to about inbound links
Engage with customers over social media, encourage them to comment on your articles and offer “How To...” guides and informative content instead of jumping on the “Why You Need To Buy Our Industry-Leading...” bandwagon. The world is always
changing, and you have to keep up. If you do, the rewards can be great. Now, keyword stuffing or having specific phrases on the site is not enough to get your site ranked on the popular search engines. And, it’s also of no use to get links from irrelevant sites. Instead of simply copying these phrases, youull write your content with the intent to actually answer them!
