Christian wins Silver for Oxfordshire at Inter Counties at Birmingham.

Christian Von Eitzen ran a tremendous race to win the U13 boys Silver medal at the Inter Counties held at Birmingham on Saturday. Tom Holden from (Surrey) won the event on a sprint finish in a time of 10:22, Christian finished in 10:23 & Merhawi Tesfaloet (Surrey) took the Bronze in 10:24.
Melissa Hawtin finished 5th in the U17 women’s competition and with it came the Bronze medal for the McCains Cross Challenge which is incorporated with the Inter Counties, Gemma Bridge finished 92nd, Jade Walker 133rd & Bethan Murphy-Hand 189th the girls finished 23rd out of 39 in the team competition.
In the senior men’s competition which was won by Mo Farrah (Newham & Essex Beagles) Oxfordshire were lead home by Mathew Ashton in 48th, Darrell Bellinger 86th, Paul Fernandez 124th, Steve Male 143rd, Peter Haarer 148th & Les Newell 167th the team finished a very creditable 16th.

The senior women were lead home by Helen Barnes in 50th, Ros Kelling 116th, Lauren Barklie 118th, Elysia Ridley 128th, Martha Lloyd 160th & Sarah Davies 202nd overall the women finished 17th.
Chris Lowe was the first U20M home in 163rd & in the U20W race Megan Roberts finished in a very respectable 30th position.

Alistair Duff lead the U17M home in 100th with George Miller 140th Gemma Bridge followed Melissa Hawtin home in the U17W in 92nd place.
First U15B home was Mitch Lomas in 125th followed by Mathieu Marshall 133rd & Ben Upjohn 194th. Lauren Hawtin finished first home for the girls in 27th, followed by Connie McMillan 42nd, Cordelia Parker 101st, Imogen Kempton 123 the girls finished 13th out of 41 teams.
Beth Hawtin brought the U13G home in 50th followed by Megan Humphreys 64th, Tory Mobley 80th & Elisha Evans 165th.
