Proposed Oxfordshire Athletics Network update

Firstly let me thank all those who attended last weeks Oxfordshire Proposed Athletics Network Open Evening.
I felt in general the night went well and that some key issue where raised.
Many people aired frustrations that they have had with various elements of the sport in the past but I also felt that some real great examples of where athletics has excelled in Oxfordshire were raised and this in part was put down to working together and communicating effectively.

The key messages I took from the night where:
 That we all need to communicate and work together much more for the benefit of athletics in Oxfordshire
 We need to appreciate each others roles in growing the sport of athletics and how working together can make this happen much quicker and much more effectively
 There have been several issues in the past that have come about in not communicating and working together.
 The network (for most) was seen as the right way forwards in addressing the above and other wider areas of athletics. .

Moving forwards:
Following on from this open evening I would like to propose a meeting for all those clubs and partners who wish to be involved in an Oxfordshire Athletics Network Bid.
Could I request that each club and partner nominate one volunteer / officers to attend on behalf of your club / organisation and feedback any comments with regards to the network? I would like the next meeting to explore in greater detail what an Oxfordshire Network might look like and what are the key areas of development. I would like to suggest the below date as a provisional date for this meeting.

Monday 6th July 2009 - 7.00pm – 9.00pm - Venue TBC (Potentially Tilsley Park or Exeter Hall Kidlington)

Please could you let me know if a member of your club / organisation will be able to attend this meeting and who this person will be?
